Fun Date Ideas – “Great! So I’ll see you Saturday!” Click. You’ve just made a date but have no clue on what to do. Ahhh! First dates can be nerve-wracking. What do I wear and will she like this? Where guyanimatedshould we go? People tend to forget this and put way more pressure on themselves to try to impress the other person, with lobster dinners, coupled with long walks on the beach and a moonlit picnic at the end, complete with the finest champagne. You can do all these things, but the good thing is you don’t have to spend a fortune to impress a girl on a first date. If you think about it, the sole purpose of a date is to get to know each other and become more comfortable, so it isn’t necessary to be all fancy (unless you want to). With that said, here are some tips on fun dates:

First off, you want to think pick a few places to visit as opposed to one place. Visiting several places within a short amount of time has a psychological effect of having felt like you’ve known each other longer. Also, with several things planned, the date becomes a little faster paced, which equates to more fun and exciting. This will make the both of you more comfortable with each other. Here are some ideas for a date

-Since dates are about getting to know each other, set up a date that shows a glimpse of who you are as a person. If you have a dog, you could take her to a dog park and you can both walk your dog. If you are an artist, take her to an art gallery or museum. If you love to dance, take her to salsa dancing class where you can show off some of your moves.

-Miniature golf, bowling, or arcade games are good places to go to. You could suggest a competition, in which the loser would have to kiss the winner (which would be a win-win situation for both of you!)

-If you live in a major city, it would be helpful to see what is going on in your city or in your community. Sometimes, there are festivals, farmers markets, and other events that go on that may be of interest.

-Although this is considered a classic date, it doesn’t make it necessarily right. Avoid going to the the movie theaters. Watching a film is a passive activity, since there is no talking or getting to know each other within the 2 hours you two are sitting those theater seats. Save the film dates for a later time, when you and her are comfortable with each other and hanging out on a consistent basis.

Those are fun ideas you can plan on your next date. Remember, to have fun and think of it more like “hanging out” then a formal date. The key here is “no pressure” – he more relaxed and comfortable you are, the more comfortable she’ll be around you.
